The owner of this Riviera 5000 wanted to do something different with the interior of the main cabin. Through R Marine Jacksons, Melbourne, we were asked to refit the main saloon to the owner’s wishes. The main problem, in the owner’s view, was that when he was out with friends they had to stand up to see out the front windows. He wanted an arrangement that would allow them to sit down and see where they were going.
The main brief was to have something where people could see and also use the main table, but also to not lose any of the original feeling of the boat. This was achieved by removing the front half of the couch, building a custom support under the floor to fix the swivelling seats to. Then to box up what used to be under the couch and add some storage, which also carried the stereo and some other electronics.
All the timber work was done in house by JPM Shipwrights to match the Riviera finish exactly. The custom chairs were supplied by Riviera.
